Built characters or photo likeness?
A character builder gives a consistent, hand-designed look, and the child is recognisable by their name and features rather than their face. Photo illustration aims for a likeness of your actual family. It uses AI, so you see a free preview first and pay only if you like it.
Languages
Librio offers books in 30 languages and Wonderbly in 12. Joonoo.art writes each book in one of 24 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Arabic, Japanese and Korean.
Formats
Joonoo.art sells a digital PDF and an A5 softcover. Hardcover gift editions are common in this category, so check each publisher's site for their formats.
When to choose Wonderbly instead

Joonoo.art uses AI to illustrate from your photos, and says so. Hooray Heroes says its books are made with "No AI". Check each publisher for its own policy.
